Legal Stuff

Is my order guaranteed? 

All registrations are sold subject to availability and we cannot accept any responsibility in the unlikely event of the number plate no longer being available from the DVLA. All registration availability and prices on our website are subject to change,

Can I cancel my order? Whats your refund policy?

Bespoke and personalised items are excluded from Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 for distant sales. This means you do not have the right to cancel your order once it has been placed. Our refund policy depends on the items ordered and at what stage your order is at and will always include a cancellation fee to cover our administration and banking costs.

V750 Certificate - Cancellable up until point of approval with the DVLA or 30 minutes after ordering, whichever is sooner . After this we will endeavour to get a refund on your behalf from the DVLA but this is not guaranteed and will be explicitly denied after 14 days from approval in line with DVLA policies.. Orders that include a V750 certificate that are cancelled will be subject to our £49.99 administration fee to handle banking & handling costs that do not get refunded to us after issuing your refund.

Number plates - Cancellable and Refundable up until point of production and then non refundable. 10% cancellation handling fee will be deducted from any refund if eligible.

Ultra-Fast Transfer Service - Cancellable but Non-Refundable once paid for as it is activated immediately upon purchase with bespoke emails and document workflows being triggered.

Number plate only orders - Cancellable and Refundable up until point of production and then non refundable. 10% cancellation handling fee will be deducted from any refund if eligible.

V750 Certificates

If your order includes a V750 Certificate please note these are ordered directly from the DVLA and we have no control over how quickly these are generated, posted, and also for any loss during transit from them to us. In these situations we will order a replacement as soon as we are able to. This is usually after 14 days from approval of registration.  Certificates are dispatched to you once delivered to us. Unless you have selected the Ultra Fast transfer service in which case we retain the V750 to comply with DVLA regulations. These then need to be destroyed once a transfer has been completed. Your newly issued V5 is then proof of ownership of the registration. If you have selected our Ultra Fast Transfer Service, we will require the V750 from the DVLA before we are able to proceed with organising your transfer. Understand these situations regarding postage of supplies from the DVLA are set by the DVLA and are outside of our control. As such we cannot be held accountable for delays in receipts of V750 certificates. 

Personalised registrations restrictions 

Number plates cannot be used to make a car look newer than it is. As such you are accepting the notice in our booking path relating to the age of your veichle and that you are aware of what age veichle your chosen plate can be put onto. We take no responsibility for orders placed that are unsuitable for your car due to the plate being newer than the car. The registration number can only be assigned to a vehicle which is registered, or about to be registered in the United Kingdom and which is an appropriate age to receive the registration number. At the time of assignment the vehicle must be licensed, of a testable type and have a test certificate in force, if applicable. Once you have assigned your number it may be transferred to another vehicle subject to the DVLA's transfer rules.

DVLA Fees 

The £80 assignment fee and VAT are included in the total price you pay. You have 10 years to assign the registration number to your chosen vehicle, but the entitlement period can be extended currently at no cost, shortly before expiry upon application to the DVLA directly.

Nominees 

If the vehicle to which this registration is to be assigned is not registered in your name as Purchaser, you should also complete the Nominee section. Once you have completed your purchase the Nominee details may only be changed upon application. Registrations purchased through us are addressed to ourselves as the purchaser and the nominee provided to us at checkout will be listed on the certificate. Please note the purchaser cannot be changed, however the nominee can be at any point with no additional cost. Sometimes due to their own internal policies, car dealerships when registering your brand new car may not be able to accept our V750. Should this happen we will try to assist but ultimately may not be able to resolve with your dealership and you will need to find an alternative way of transferring the private plate to your car, such as using the V5 reference when it is received. GetReg are unable to accept any liability in this respect and will not be able to cancel your order.

Transfers to a Vehicle

Your vehicle must have a valid MOT and valid TAX before we are able to process a transfer. We need to have the most up to date V5 on the day of the transfer. A replacement V5 will go to the address on the V5 so this needs to be up to date before we can process a transfer.

Number plates

It is an offence to mis-represent the registration number in any way. Our number plates will always conform to the required standards, any incorrect spacing entered during checkout will be corrected by our backend systems.
